It’s always a great pleasure to hang out in a completed project for a few hours and work with a pro to capture all the good things about it.
Environmentally Sustainable Architecture
A truly environmentally sustainable house will consider a much broader spectrum of responsibility and possibility.
Humble Beginings
This is a throw back to several years ago when, as a young architect, I celebrated meager beginnings. The chook shed in my back yard still counted as built work. I even decided it was worth putting on a suit jacket and drumming up some fake news so, with the help of photoshop, I set about creating a stereo-typically corny Messenger cover page complete with a corny Headline. I’ve been taking myself very seriously ever since.
We talk good.
Khab managed to claim the award for the best verbal presentation of our projects at this years institute awards. This is the second year in a row that we’ve bagged this accolade and it just goes to show that with a bit of effort, we really can talk good. Thanks to the AIA and Rev Roofing for the recognition and award.
CHEERS
It can be a solid couple of years to produce a house and then, all of a sudden, it’s finished! A great builder, a great client, and a great house are all well and truly worth a toast.
Adam speaking at the Festival of Architecture and Design this weekend
For anyone out there who is interested in a great weekend of Architecture, I’m speaking at a couple of FAD events:
1) Lightning Talks - Presenting our 2019 AIA SA award winning new house
2) 15@FAD - Presenting my own house and specifically the topic of ‘Home’

Who are we?
We're trying to find our own identity amongst so many options. We could be anything! We haven't boxed ourselves in... we've ended up in a circle..... so far.
Khab Community Projects
We've had a couple of openings of Khab Community Projects recently. Tara Hills Retreat Centre in the bush and The Grove Uniting Church in the burbs. One new, one renovation. Both humming with people and celebration.
Nice Bones
Proud to be some of the first guests entertained at this new Khab designed house. It's still only framing but already spectacular.
VALUABLE CLIENT FEEDBACK
I don't know if we've had a chance to really earn this client feedback on this particular project yet but we're willing take it on board anyway.
THE GROVE
Last week we headed out to The Grove Uniting at Woodville Gardens where changes to the old church are nearing completion. It is excellent to be involved in reshaping a building to suit the vibrant community that occupies it.
What do you get when you let an architect customise a garden shed?
Kirsty took a standard shed, pushed and pulled it, cut and clad it, to come up with something pretty special for a reasonable price. Khab would like to make more of these for more people so keep an eye out..... this shed may be coming to a back yard near you.
Sarah and John's underway
framed
Look out! Starchitect.....
Kirsty gets interviewed at 'Fan and Flare' - a design by Khab, completed in 2014
A lecture circuit of 1
So we actually gave a lecture about our work which was confronting not only on the public speaking front but also in being forced to reflect on who/what Khab really is. Neither Kirsty or I could talk about who we ar as individuals without talking about our angelic kids.
